I am a Queer and neurodiverse interdisciplinary artist and youth development worker living, working, and creating on Potawatomi and Peoria Land, or so-called Kalamazoo, Michigan. My pronouns are they, them, and theirs.

I make art because my heart, brain, and hands have to do something to try to make sense of the world. I strive to always be learning and art is where I metabolize it all. I explore the responsibilities of the artist in our immediate communities and the larger world.

I find inspiration in materials that have been discarded, forgotten, or overlooked. We live in a world of massive abundance and it pains me to see anything go to waste. Whether it’s thrifted fabric and bedsheets rearranged into a quilted banner, second and third-hand thread from someone’s stash woven into scarves and altar cloths, discarded t-shirts made into thread and woven into a wall hanging, or any number of odds and ends repurposed, I take great joy in transformations.

Transformations are necessary. While all of us move in and out of liminal spaces– growth, in-betweens, becomings– I linger in liminality longer, making transformation, exploration, and discovery my natural state. I want to always be in a state of becoming.
